As a building that stood locked for most of the week, the church was of minimal use to most of the community. Now with their brand new meeting rooms and kitchen facilities, the church offers welcoming, affordable meeting space to over 1,000 members of the community.

The church now draws people in, creating a real sense of community ownership for all those involved.

Church member and Luncheon Club regular Eileen Hinchcliffe explains why the new improvements have been so important to her: "I think it's marvellous what’s been done to the church...I don't know what I would’ve done if I hadn't had the church and all my friends to come to, with me being on my own now".
