Fact File
Boston Spa Village Hall was established in a former Victorian school building in 1909. The popular venue is at the heart of the village and accommodates over 40 local clubs and groups ranging from children’s clubs to social gatherings for the elderly in its large hall, two meeting rooms, committee room and café area.
In 2019 the charity used its reserves to install a new kitchen which was needed to accommodate the various organisations that use the hall. This meant that there were no funds left to refurbish the toilet facilities which were in a poor state of repair having experienced several leaks and blockages and required significant investment to bring up to the standard expected.
The organisation reached out to Biffa Award. They were awarded a £51,478 grant to refurbish the toilet facilities and the dated foyer area. The enhanced facilities benefitted all members of the community but especially the elderly and parents with young children.
