Project/Applicant Name:Heads Together Productions
County:West Yorkshire
Theme:Community Buildings
Grant Received:£30,923

Heads Together Productions opened Chapel FM Arts Centre in October 2014, following a total refurbishment of a semi-derelict Methodist Chapel in the heart of East Leeds. The Centre has become an anchor organisation in the community; welcoming local residents and community organisations including a luncheon club for elderly and vulnerable people, a good neighbours scheme and inter-generational activities.

By 2019 the building was so popular as a base for community groups and organisations, that Chapel FM bought the former church hall building next door. The diving wall will be knocked down to create a large community space.

Unfortunately the heating system in the former church hall was not fit for purpose so Chapel FM approached Biffa Award. The organisation was awarded £30,923 to install ground source heating which would create zero emissions and reduce the organisation’s energy bills.
