Leicester Progressive Jewish Congregation has excellent relations with the wider community. It caters for prenatal and postnatal groups, over 50’s exercise, chess group, music classes for pre-school children, Indian dance classes and a luncheon club for the elderly. It is also used as a community shelter for the homeless throughout winter. The £75,000 grant from Biffa Award enabled the creation of a new room, achieving a greater amount of flexibility and maximising the space available for community use, allowing several groups to run at the same time.
